From the first phone call to request an emergency Saturday appointment through payment and follow-up phone call; the front desk employees, tech, and doctor were exceeding kind, caring, and thorough! They took the time to explain what was wrong with our dog and gave us treatment options. After a sleepless night of worry, we left the office feeling confident that our “Savannah” would be improving soon! She has!

I called for an urgent appointment since my cat could hardly void. I was able to get a same day appointment. If not for this, I would have driven down to Cruz ER which is a much longer drive. From the moment you enter an until you leave, everyone is just so friendly but yet professional. Seamus doesn’t like to go to the vet but he doesn’t seem to be bother coming here. Most professional and friendly office I’ve ever taken my dog to! Absolutely recommend!

I cannot praise this practice highly enough to do it justice. My dog Febe is terrified of all vet offices- shaking and pulling as soon as she approaches. But Daja the Vet Tech and Dr. Millington were game changers. They were so caring and spent a long time getting to know her, giving her massages and peanut butter, and asking me many important questions. By the time of her examination she was okay with them. Didn’t freak out. First time ever. (Ok she still hated the anal gland exam, but who doesn’t?). The front desk employees were also so thoughtful and helpful. I love this practice and their employees! So lucky to have them here.

I have never been to a better vet office. From walking in the door, to the way I am treated and the way Bailey is treated. Karla at the front desk knows me when I call, just by hearing my voice. I know Dr. Millington will take good care of Bailey when he has surgery. I just can’t say how happy I am to have Island Hammock here.

I have lived in many different states and moved to Key Largo two months ago. I had an emergency situation occur when my dog was attacked by a large dog. The entire staff handled this trauma in a caring and professional manner. They have been fabulous for the past two weeks and Romeo is happy and healing. Island Hammock Pet Hospital is a great place to bring your dog for routine check ups, behavioral issues and emergencies. Our Benny had an allergic reaction to an unknown substance, and he was seen quickly and effectively. I am thankful for their expert care and ability to squeeze him into an already busy day. The waiting area is never too crowded with other animals so my cats are always relaxed. The staff is professional and very sweet to my babies. I’m greatful to have this clinic in the Keys! We are on vacation here for a month with our dogs. Our 13 year old needed to be seen by a veterinarian with slight urgency, and we were able to be treated within a couple of days. The staff were so kind and pleasant and made us feel welcome and calm. The Veterinarian was a lovely woman who was so very compassionate, gentle, thorough, knowledgeable and kind. She went over cost and care. A great veterinary office, with wonderful staff. Very clean also! Thank you for helping us while we were over 1,500 miles from home.

One of the best vet services I’ve ever received while being a dog owner for years. You’re dealing with supportive, compassionate, professional people from the front desk to techs to doctors who are there for you. My dog needed an emergency service, and they were able to accommodate us quickly and efficiently. Most importantly, the place was flawless, extremely clean, and the service came with a very reasonable cost. Dr. Edwards saw us, spent quite some time listening to our situation and outlining our options. We felt very comfortable with the plan and trusted the team with the solution provided. I previously lived in key largo for a few years and in 2016ish had brought a stray cat I cared for to Island Hammock when he showed up injured at my door. They treated him and he fully recovered. Cut to 2024 and I’m down here on vacation and my dog had a suspected ear infection. She would not stop shaking her head and we were leaving town that morning with a long travel day ahead of us. I called IH and Dani the Receptionist was so kind and saw I had been there previously and talked to the vet about fitting me in. Unfortunately it wouldn’t work out but she was so empathetic she sent me a text of other neighboring vets to see if I could get my dog seen. I called around in 4 cities and only 1 in Miami could do it, but in a few hours. Cut back to Dani calling back saying they had a cancellation and could take Tilly in 30 mins. It was a miracle! I so appreciated being squeezed in by the staff here and for Dani going above and beyond to make it happen. Thank you so much!

Wow! Our first visit and I’m so very impressed! Extra courteous & kind. Nice facility. I have a nervous high-energy fox terrier that acts up all stressed at the vet, and these wonderful people took it in stride & got him calm enough for shots, ear cleaning & blood work! Patience 🙏of Saints! A very special thanks to everyone from check-in to check-out! Doc & assistant tech were awesome in explaining everything & giving us choices. It was ALL💕 about the dog from “Hello to Bye-Bye!”

My mastiff Copper loves this place and the staff are always receptive and caring. We wouldn’t want to take him anywhere else. Thank you for always being such a great clinic. Although the pricing is a bit more than some other pet clinics one must realize that living in the Florida keys does require a bit of a premium for services rendered than most other places that do not have as high of a cost of living. I find them reasonable and am happy to have such a great place so close to home.
