Dr. Martha Edwards: Owner, Medical Director
Dr. Martha has a lifelong love for animals. After graduating high school, she went on to study to be a Veterinary Technician. After receiving an Associate of Arts Degree in Animal Science and spending a year as a Veterinary Technician, Dr. Martha went back to school to earn her doctorate and graduated in 1989 from Kansas State University.
Since graduation from Veterinary School, Dr. Martha has practiced medicine in South Florida and the Caribbean and has lived full-time in the Keys since 1991. She joined a practice in Islamorada in 1994 and managed the practice shortly after it was sold to VCA in 2000. In 2010 Dr. Martha opened her own practice, the Island Hammock Pet Hospital in Key Largo, where she continues to pursue her passion to keep animals healthy and happy. Dr. Martha also donates her time to help our local animal shelters and rescue groups.
